File Storage

Teams is a Microsoft product so files are stored on the same Microsoft servers as OneDrive and myCommunity. It is recommended that you do not store any files containing HIPAA information, payment processing info, or social security numbers within Teams.


There are a few ways that notifications work in Teams and you have options to customize what you will receive and how.

By default, you will only receive a notification when:

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a messaging platform for your group, team, or department. It provides a workspace for real-time collaboration and communication, meetings, files and app sharing, and even the occasional animated gif! All in one place, all in the open, all accessible to everyone.

Accessing Teams

There are a few ways you can access a Team.

  • Sign in to mycommunity.ku.edu, open the app launcher  Italian Trulli  and select Teams.
  • Install Microsoft Teams on to your computer.
  • Download the Teams app on your phone or tablet.

Multifunction Device (MFD) Instructions for Departments

The following instructions are also available in a printable PDF handout.


Your tech support staff should have set up your ability to print to your local MFD. Talk with your department's IT support staff if you are having issues printing.
